All things considered, success has not been a problem for Celtic in recent years. Except for the 2020/21 campaign, the Hoops have brought home silverware on a consistent basis and are expected to continue on that path moving forward as well, as they are expected to strengthen Brendan Rodgers' squad over the summer.

One problem that Celtic have faced in recent times is their inability to promote youngsters to the senior team. The last time someone made that jump successfully and became a starter is Kieran Tierney. It is safe to say that it has been a while.

Now, it looks like Celtic are on the verge of seeing one of their most promising youngsters leave. Of course, it is none other than Rocco Vata, who has found chances tough to come by at Parkhead despite his unquestionable talent.

As tweeted by Anthony Joseph, Watford are in advanced talks with Vata. It’s understood the youngster has visited the facilities and met with club reps. Celtic would be due £237,000 in training compensation if he joins the English side.

Vata has stood at the youth and B team levels for Celtic. And yet, his success has not translated into consistent chances in the senior team.

So, nobody can really complain if Vata chooses to leave Celtic this summer. For years, there has not been a clear path into the senior team for youngsters at Parkhead.

Vata certainly seems to have the talent and potential to succeed in the senior game. It is curious why the chances have not come for him. On the rare occasions he has been put on the pitch, the youngster has done a decent job. Let's see what the future holds for him but an exit seems like the most likely route.
