Celtic fans are well aware that the Hoops will be the underdogs when they take to the Signal Iduna Park pitch in midweek. Borussia Dortmund reached the final of the Champions League last season. Competing with them would be difficult anywhere. At home, they will also have the legendary Yellow Wall behind them.

Of course, it is not like Celtic players are not used to playing in world-class atmospheres. So, hopefully, that does not prove to be a tough adjustment although the club's away record in the Champions League suggests otherwise.

Borussia Dortmund don't seem to be taking Celtic lightly either, despite going into the game as heavy favourites. And their captain, Emre Can, has claimed that the Hoops' Japanese players have impressed the German side.

Of course, that can only mean Kyogo, Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate. They have been standout performers for Celtic going back to Ange Postecoglou's time as manager of the club, when they were signed. As reported by the Daily Record, Can said:

"When the draw was made, maybe people thought this game would be comfortable for us but after Celtic’s exhibition against Slovan, the impressions have changed.

“We’ve been impressed by the work of the Japanese players at Celtic. We have to stop those players in Dortmund."

Of course, those three are key players for Celtic. But they have others as well who could pose problems to Borussia Dortmund away in Germany.

Arne Engels has looked superb since coming in for a club-record fee this summer. Callum McGregor has rediscovered his goalscoring touch and seems to be playing more freely since announcing his retirement from international football. Nicolas Kuhn, previously of Bayern Munich, is in the form of his life right now. And the defence has been solid too.

One worry that Celtic have going into the game is the unavailability of Cameron Carter-Vickers. The American international has been ruled out due to a toe injury. Auston Trusty, who was signed from Sheffield United, is expected to take his place in the starting XI.
