Celtic have completed three signings this summer so far and hopefully, they will be successful in bringing in a few more fresh faces before the transfer window slams shut. On the other hand, the club will know that there are key players who could leave. And the constant speculation around the future of Matt O'Riley is starting to feel like a distraction at this point.

O'Riley has been linked with a long list of clubs in recent times. Chelsea, Juventus, Inter Milan, Atalanta and many others are believed to hold an interest in the Danish international.

Considering the level of the clubs being linked with O'Riley, it would be a surprise if he is at Celtic Park come September. If he was to indeed leave, the club would need to find a replacement for him. And interestingly, they are believed to be interested in a highly-rated Argentine talent, albeit only on a loan basis.

As reported by AD.nl (via 67 Hail Hail), Celtic and Southampton are among the contenders to sign Facundo Buonanotte on a loan basis. But the Brighton & Hove Albion youngster is ‘expected’ to stay in England.

Buonanotte played a decent bit of football for Brighton & Hove Albion last season although he was not a regular starter for the Seagulls. He has also represented Argentina at the international level on a couple of occasions already despite being just 19 years of age.

Buonanotte is a versatile player as well. He can play in the number 10 role as the most advanced midfielder or on the right flank, either as a winger or in midfield.

Someone like Buonanotte would be a decent addition to Celtic but there is very little chance that the club would be able to sign him on a permanent basis at the end of a loan deal. Also, he should not be viewed as someone capable of replacing O'Riley at this point in his career.
