Celtic step up pursuit of top Rangers transfer target
This summer seems to have been full of bad news for the Rangers and Philippe Clement's side appear to have been handed another blow. It looks like Celtic are eyeing one of the Ibrox club's top transfer targets, as a deal to sign Adam Idah on a permanent basis from Norwich City is proving difficult to pull off.
In the eyes of most Celtic fans, bringing back Idah would be the best-case scenario. The striker proved himself as a valuable member of Brendan Rodgers' team while on loan from Norwich City in the second half of last season.
Celtic did not have a buyout clause included in the loan deal though. And new Norwich City manager, Johannes Hoff Thorup, has decided to take a look at Idah during pre-season before making any decision on his future.
With the season getting closer, the Hoops need to add another striker to their ranks soon. As reported by HITC, Celtic are now stepping up their pursuit of Lawrence Shankland as an agreement with Norwich City for Idah continues to prove elusive.

It is believed that it would take a transfer fee in the region of £3 million to sign Shankland from Hearts. One can confidently predict that it would take a much larger figure to bring Idah to Parkhead.
Of course, most fans would prefer a move for Idah. But if it does not prove to be possible then signing someone like Shankland would be a wonderful alternative.
Shankland is coming off a tremendous 2023/24 campaign and he is in his prime right now. On the other hand, Kyogo's form has been spectacular in the ongoing pre-season as Rodgers finally seems to have figured out how to get the best out of the Japanese forward.
