Celtic submit £5m transfer bid for American international
With just a few days left in the summer transfer window, Celtic have a lot of work left to do. The club had shown a refreshing swift approach to transfers during Ange Postecoglou's time as manager but with the Australian leaving for Tottenham Hotspur, it is back to the era of last-minute deals. Hopefully, the Hoops will be able to pull off some major ones this week.
Of course, bringing in a replacement for Matt O'Riley has to be at the top of their wishlist, with the Danish international joining Brighton & Hove Albion. Mateusz Bogusz and Arne Engels are two players who have been heavily linked with in recent days and rumours suggest that offers have already been made for them.
Celtic are seemingly interested in strengthening at centre-back as well and provide some competition to Liam Scales. It looks like they are considering partnering Cameron Carter-Vickers with a fellow American international.
As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic have made a £5 million transfer bid for Auston Trusty. The club have tabled the offer for the Sheffield United player. The Blades are reluctant to part ways with the defender but the Hoops are pushing hard to try to make the move happen.

Trusty has had an interesting career so far. He came up through the ranks in the MLS and soon found himself at Arsenal.
Things did not go according to plan at the London club though and Trusty joined Sheffield United before he could make a single appearance for Arsenal. He has featured regularly for the Blades.
Celtic do need to sign a centre-back this summer with several leaving the club in this window. Scales and Carter-Vickers are the preferred pairing at the moment. Let's see if that changes.
