Celtic should sign Argentine World Cup winner for free
One of the issues that Celtic face in Europe is the fact that they need to change their style against the big teams, or at the very least, make some adjustments. We all saw what happened against Borussia Dortmund, when they did not do that. And in those types of games, the Hoops could do with a bit more steel in their midfield.
Celtic have lacked a proper defensive midfielder for years. Someone who can break up play in the middle of the park and make it tougher for the opposition to play through the Hoops, which Borussia Dortmund were easily able to do.
Celtic have tried to fill that void in the past. They have signed players like Ismaila Soro, Oliver Abildgaard and Tomoki Iwata. But it has never really worked out.
Perhaps they need someone with a bit more pedigree. How about a World Cup winner who looks set to be available as a free agent next summer?

Leandro Paredes has struggled to get into the AS Roma team at the start of the season. His current contract is believed to run out next summer.
There have been suggestions that Paredes could look to return to Argentina and play for Boca Juniors. But if that does not turn out to be the case, and if he is available as a free agent, Celtic should definitely consider a move for a player of his calibre and experience.
He has played for clubs like Juventus, PSG and AS Roma. With Argentina, Paredes has won a World Cup and a couple of Copa America titles. That is quite the resume.
Paredes will be 31 years old next summer. So, one would think that he'd have a bit of football left in the tank.
