Celtic reject £15 million transfer bid for key player
The early part of Celtic's summer transfer window has been all about exits. Sead Haksabanovic was the first one to depart, joining Malmo on a permanent basis. Then Marco Tilio left on loan, heading back to Melbourne City FC. They were followed out the exit door by Rocco Vata, who ended up signing with Watford.
Unfortunately, there could be more players who leave Celtic this summer. One player whose future has been uncertain for quite some time is Matt O'Riley.
Some of Europe's best clubs are believed to be interested in signing O'Riley. He has been linked with the likes of Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Inter Milan. And a top Serie A club even put in a transfer offer for the Danish midfielder recently.
As reported by Football Scotland, Atalanta submitted a formal approach of £15 million for the playmaker. But talks were declined by Celtic, who are determined to keep O'Riley.

This is not the first time that Celtic have turned down an approach for O'Riley. Atletico Madrid were believed to have made an offer to sign the midfielder in January as well, but the Hoops were not open to the idea of parting ways with him in the middle of the season.
This summer could be a very different story though. We all know that if the right offer comes in, O'Riley would most probably be on his way out of Celtic Park.
What that figure is? That remains to be seen. There have been suggestions that Celtic are looking for a transfer fee around £30 million, which would be a Scottish record by some distance.
Of course, O'Riley leaving would leave a major void in Brendan Rodgers' squad. But that is just the reality of life at Celtic.
