Celtic readying offer for Manchester United midfielder
Celtic have made a couple signings so far this summer, bringing in two goalkeepers. Kasper Schmeichel will be the one to replace Joe Hart between the posts following the Englishman's retirement at the end of last season. On the other hand, Viljami Sinisalo has been signed from Aston Villa and is set to be the cover option.
Celtic are set to sign Paulo Bernardo on a permanent basis as well. Rumours suggest that that deal is as good as done.
It looks like the club have their eyes on another midfielder as well. And in this case, he plays for Manchester United. However, his time at the senior level has not been as good as expected, after being a standout performer at the youth levels.
As reported by Mosaique FM, Celtic are preparing to make an offer to sign Hannibal Mejbri permanently. Manchester United are willing to part ways with him, especially as his contract with the club expires in June 2025.
Celtic readying offer for Manchester United midfielder
Not too long ago, Hannibal was considered the next big thing at Manchester United. But according to Transfermarkt, he has played just 405 minutes of football for the club so far, scoring only one goal and providing no assists.
He has had loan spells at Birmingham City and Sevilla as well. But neither proved to be very fruitful for the Manchester United youngster.
Hannibal's talent is not in question though. He just has not been able to put things together at the senior level. He is still just 21 years of age and has plenty of time to do that.
A club like Celtic could be a good next step for Hannibal's career. Now, it just remains to be seen whether a move to Parkhead ends up transpiring this summer or not.
