Celtic need to move on from Adam Idah and pursue other options

Celtic are believed to be looking for two new forwards this summer to play alongside Kyogo Furuhashi. Brendan Rodgers has been clear that he sees that as the Japanese international plus one other as the two main strikers. He also plans to have another striker in his squad who has room to develop further.
Having enjoyed a great spell after joining in the winter on loan, Adam Idah has been an obvious transfer target for Celtic this summer. Signing him up on a permanent basis would be a good plan after he settled in well in Glasgow and scored some critical goals last season including that Scottish Cup final winner against the Rangers at Hampden Park to secure a double.
Idah is believed to be keen on a move to Parkhead as well. His Instagram profile picture shows him still in a Celtic kit and he recently posted a comment in response to the club's win over Chelsea.
Norwich City appear to be playing hardball in terms of agreeing on a transfer fee. Rumours of a move heightened when Idah was again missing from the Canaries squad for a match, but that appears to be down to an internal disciplinary matter after he missed a flight.
Celtic need to move on from Adam Idah and pursue other options
This saga has been dragging on way too long now. Transfers can take a while to negotiate, fees can be hard to agree upon and no club, especially Celtic, will want to overpay to make a signing. But as the new league season approaches, it’s surely time to move on from Idah. Especially if Norwich City are asking for a figure in the region of £8 million to £10 million as has been suggested by some outlets.
Idah is a decent player, better than many expected when the loan was agreed. But he is not a unique part of the squad jigsaw that can't be found elsewhere.
The Hoops will undoubtedly be pursuing other options, but have perhaps been slow in progressing for alternatives while there is uncertainty over the Norwich City player. We’re surely getting close to the point where any further delays start to limit the other possibilities. Players will be closing in on moves and Celtic need to avoid waiting to seal deals at the last minute for such a critical position.
