It would be an understatement to say that Celtic Park was a busy place on deadline day. The Hoops completed three signings, including the club-record £11 million arrival of Arne Engels. The hope is that the Belgian midfielder will be able to replace the outstanding Matt O'Riley, who left for Brighton & Hove Albion. He was not the only addition in the middle of the park, with Dundee FC captain, Luke McCowan, also arriving. And in defence, Auston Trusty was brought in from Sheffield United.

Celtic fans had not been impressed with the club's activity for the majority of the summer. They did not have much to complain about when it came to their deadline day business though.

Maybe another striker, to provide cover to Kyogo and Adam Idah, would have been good. But overall, this was a positive summer transfer window, minus the exit of O'Riley.

There was one Celtic player who completed a last-minute Parkhead exit on deadline day. But it went somewhat under the radar, thanks to the club announcing their new signings at around the same time.

As reported by Birmingham City's official website, Tomoki Iwata has joined the club from Celtic for an undisclosed fee. He has agreed terms on a three-year contract.

Iwata was one of the last signings Celtic made during the Ange Postecoglou era. And to be honest, he always looked like a decent player when given a chance.

By the end of last season, he had managed to break into Brendan Rodgers' first-team picture and got a run of games. So, his exit does come as a bit of a surprise when other players, who have less chance of getting game time, have stayed on at Parkhead beyond the summer transfer window.
