Celtic's last-minute bid accepted at end of summer window
Celtic announced the arrivals of Auston Trusty and Arne Engels on deadline day. The former has been brought in from Sheffield United for a transfer fee believed to be around £6 million. He should strengthen the backline and is expected to compete with Liam Scales for a starting spot. On the other hand, the latter has joined from FC Augsburg for a club-record £11 million deal. So, i would think that the Hoops are completely convinced that he is the man to replace Matt O'Riley.
There was talk of Celtic signing another midfielder on deadline day. And it looks like they have managed to get a deal agreed.
Celtic had been linked with the likes of Mateusz Bogusz, Alvyn Sanches and Andy Irving. None of them will be joining the club though. Instead, it is set to be Dundee FC captain, Luke McCowan.
As tweeted by Anthony Joseph, Dundee FC have accepted a £1 million bid from Celtic for McCowan. The clubs are now looking to finalise a deal before the deadline. A deal sheet can be used for an extension if they can show that they are at an advanced stage with a transfer.

It is believed that Celtic have managed to get a verbal agreement from McCowan on a long-term deal. So, if things go according to plan, he should be playing in a green-and-white jersey soon.
Never say never in football. Nothing is official yet. But, this move does feel like as good as done in what was a memorable deadline day for the Hoops.
The transfer window is now in the books and the focus will turn towards the upcoming Glasgow Derby. Celtic are set to welcome the Rangers to Parkhead this weekend in a very important game.
