Celtic fans will be delighted with how this season has started for the Hoops. They have won their first eight matches and most of them in convincing fashion. And considering that they went 3-0 up away in Perth against St Johnstone in the first half itself, it would be safe to say that the little stumble vs Falkirk was merely 45 bad minutes of football from Brendan Rodgers' side.
One player who started on the day was Luis Palma. Having faced quite a bit of criticism this season, the Honduran winger had the opportunity to remind the world what he is capable of.
He did not. Instead, he delivered another lacklustre display, despite being up against a Championship side, albeit a good one.
It looks like Rodgers has not been impressed with what he has seen from Palma either. The Honduran international was not even included in the matchday squad for the St Johnstone game. Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn were the two starters as expected. On the other hand, Yang Hyun-jun and James Forrest were the two wingers on the bench.
Celtic player dropped from squad amid exit rumours
Palma should be worried about how things are going for him at Celtic. It feels like ancient history now but he had started his Parkhead career so brightly. Overall, he had 20 goal contributions in 36 appearances across all competitions last season.
Unfortunately, he lost his place in the team once his output dropped. And as things stand, it is hard to see him finding his way back into the starting XI. In fact, it looks like his place in the matchday squad is now under doubt.
Of course, one cannot ignore the speculation that Palma could be on his way out in January. On the other hand, rumours of Celtic being interested in Michel-Ange Balikwisha of Royal Antwerp have re-emerged in recent days as well.
