The search goes on for quality players to join Celtic. Sunday’s away at Hibernian was satisfying, but the need to strengthen further remains. Most of the fans won’t be anywhere near satisfied with the business done so far in the transfer window. And one has to imagine that Brendan Rodgers won't be either.

It’s obvious that the club needs a couple more centre-forwards. Kyogo struggling with his ongoing shoulder issues remain a worry. He has not scored as freely since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers either.

Fortunately, it looks like a step forward has been made with regard to a deal for Adam Idah. Celtic are rumoured to have agreed a £8.5 million plus £1 million package with Norwich City for the Irish international.

Elsewhere on the pitch, there is likely to be a gap in midfield. Matt O’Riley is expected to move on at some point. And even if not in this window, it would be great succession planning to bolster the squad with another player there now. Paulo Bernardo’s signing helps. Also, a midfield signing doesn't have to be a direct replacement for the Danish international. The Hoops could benefit from a more defensive midfielder joining the ranks. Especially for the Champions League games coming up.

One option Celtic are said to have been looking at seemed to be off the table for a while. News now though suggests that Tanner Hessmann hasn’t secured a move away from Venezia after all.

As reported by Viola News (via Daily Record), Fiorentina have 'abandoned the path' to sign Tessmann after failing to agree terms with Venezia. They say they are now focussing on signing Morocco's Amir Richardson instead.

Other clubs will also be interested in Tessmann. The likes of Brentford, Torino, Parma, and Como have all been mentioned. It is expected to take a transfer fee in the region of €5.5 million to sign him.
