Celtic boss explains why Luis Palma was dropped vs Hibernian
Celtic continued their winning start to the season with a 2-0 win over Hibernian. While the scoreline does not seem one-sided, Brendan Rodgers' side were clearly the better team, especially in the first half when they could have easily scored a few more. Ultimately, goals from Nicolas Kuhn and Callum McGregor ended up deciding the result of the game.
One name missing from the matchday squad was Luis Palma. That came as a surprise to many supporters.
Palma had been in stellar form in pre-season and looked ready to make his mark for Celtic after an up-and-down debut campaign for the club last time around. But unfortunately, the Honduran winger has picked up an injury.
The good news is that it is not a long-term issue and Palma should be back in contention pretty soon if his recovery goes according to expectations. As reported by Glasgow World, Rodgers said about the Honduran winger:
"(Palma) 10 days to a couple of weeks. I think when you watch the challenge back, it was a really nasty injury for him.
“He did amazing to play on when you see the rotation in his ankle. He is still a bit of time away."

One can only hope that Palma recovers as soon as possible. He is someone who is capable of making a positive contribution to this team with both goals and assists. The other wingers do not have that sort of impact in front of goal.
That being said, Kuhn is starting to show that he might be capable of producing big numbers as well. These are still early days and we should not get ahead of ourselves but some of the German winger's performances in recent times have been fantastic and cause for a lot of optimism.
Overall, it has been a fantastic start to the season for Celtic. Hopefully, they continue on this path and improve the team further with some additions in the summer transfer window. For the time being, there is a lot for the fans to be happy about.
