Celtic make bold decision days before deadline day
With merely days left in the summer transfer window, most clubs are putting the finishing touches to their squad. Not Celtic. Instead, the Hoops are scrambling to make multiple additions, having let things drag on for too long once again. The swift approach of the Ange Postecoglou era is already a thing of the past and it is business as usual at Parkhead.
There have been some positive rumours lately. It has been suggested that Celtic have made a club-record offer for Arne Engels of FC Augsburg.
On the other hand, there is negative news as well. It looks like Celtic have decided to drop out of the race for Mateusz Bogusz, the Los Angeles FC standout who they have been linked with for the past week or so.
As reported by Football Scotland, Engels is the priority. There are other names in the frame with Bogusz now no longer being targeted.

Bogusz has been in tremendous form for LAFC. Someone like him could have brought a lot of quality to this Celtic side, who have a lot of goals and assists to replace with Matt O'Riley leaving for Brighton & Hove Albion.
But LAFC were never believed to be keen on parting ways with their star man. While the reason remains unclear, it now looks like Celtic are no longer trying to sign Bogusz.
It will be interesting to see if Celtic do end up going for a similar player or end up looking to strengthen in other areas of the pitch altogether. It certainly is not an ideal situation to be in with just a few days left in the window.
Also, other clubs know that Celtic have money in the bank after O'Riley sealed a Scottish-record exit. So, they are expected to ask for premium transfer fees for their players at this point.
