Celtic are believed to be looking to strengthen at the back this summer. Centre-back and left-back are two positions where they could do with reinforcements. Liam Scales was the club's most regular feature in the heart of defence last season but most fans believe that there is room for improvement in that area of the pitch. On the other hand, there is no real competition for Greg Taylor in the squad.

We have seen quite a few centre-backs and left-backs being linked with Celtic in recent weeks. But what if they brought in someone who is comfortable playing both of those positions?

Rumours doing the rounds online suggest that Mauro Perkovic is a player Celtic have an eye on. The 21-year-old Croatian defender currently plays for Dinamo Zagreb.

Perkovic has represented Croatia on a regular basis at the youth level. And if his development goes according to plan, one would expect him to be a full international someday.

Perkovic is mostly recognised as a centre-back. But he has played quite regularly as a left-back as well, and done a good job in that role.

It remains to be seen whether Celtic end up making a move for Perkovic this summer. Interestingly, there have been suggestions that they could be looking to part ways with Gustaf Lagerbielke in this window. There is believed to be interest in Stephen Welsh as well and it is hard to imagine that Yuki Kobayashi will remain at Parkhead for much longer.

When it comes to left-back, there is not much depth to begin with. Taylor is the only genuine option there at the moment with Alexandro Bernabei leaving on loan. The Hoops have recently been linked with a potential move for Wolverhampton Wanderers full-back, Hugo Bueno, as well.
