Celtic were linked with a move for Hugo Bueno in January but a winter move for the Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back failed to materialise. The rumours are circulating once again this summer and it remains to be seen if the outcome proves to be different this time around. The Hoops could certainly do with some competition in that area of the pitch.

Greg Taylor has been Celtic's first-choice left-back for a few seasons now. But there is nobody really competing with the Scottish international for the starting role.

Someone like Bueno could be a decent addition to this Celtic team, even if only on a loan basis. Let's see how things play out.

Brendan Rodgers is keeping his cards close to his chest as always, although he has responded to a question about the Wolves player. As reported by Football Scotland, when about Bueno, the manager said:

""I obviously know Hugo from the Premier League and seen him play, but nothing more on that really.""

There have been conflicting rumours regarding the situation of Bueno in recent days. Some sources have claimed that Wolves are not interested in parting ways with the left-back this summer. Others have suggested that the Premier League would be open to a loan deal but would seek assurances over his playing time.

Of course, if a move for Bueno fails to materialise this time around as well, there are plenty of other left-backs that Celtic could try to sign, whether on loan or on a permanent basis. The important thing is that they strengthen in that position.

At the same time, there has been talk about handing Taylor a new deal as well and he has certainly earned it. His current contract is believed to run out next summer. Not the ideal situation to be in for Celtic, considering the Scot is the starting left-back.
