Celtic linked with striker wanted by Manchester United
Celtic will need to sign a striker or two this summer. Oh Hyeon-gyu has already left to join Genk. On the other hand, Rocco Vata has joined Watford. Adam Idah enjoyed a fantastic spell at Parkhead but he was only on loan until the end of the 23/24 season and has returned to Norwich City, where he seems to be a part of the new manager's plans and has been featuring in pre-season.
That has left Celtic with only one recognised striker in their squad, Kyogo. Hopefully, reinforcements will be brought in before the season begins.
Most fans are hoping for Idah to be signed on a permanent basis. But that could prove to be difficult. Not having a buyout clause included in the loan deal has proven to be a major problem for the Hoops. Now, Norwich City have all the leverage.
On the other hand, Celtic are being linked with a wonderkid. Rumours doing the rounds suggest that they have enquired about Royal Antwerp striker, George Ilenikhena.
Celtic linked with striker wanted by Manchester United
Celtic are already believed to be looking to sign one Royal Antwerp player in Michel Ange-Balikwisha. And now, the name of Ilenikhena has been added to that list.
Ilenikhena has already shown his ability to deliver the goods in the senior game. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 14 goals in 50 appearances for Royal Antwerp.
That includes a goal against FC Barcelona in the Champions League last season. He has also scored against Belgian clubs like Anderlecht, Standard Liege, Gent and Club Brugge.
Thus, there is no question that Ilenikhena is a top talent and he has been linked with clubs like Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund already. So, Celtic's rumoured interest in the striker has to be seen as a positive.
