The departures keep coming fast at Celtic Park. We have already seen four players leave. Sead Haksabanovic, Rocco Vata and Oh Hyeon-gyu have left the club on a permanent basis to continue their careers elsewhere. On the other hand, Marco Tilio has left on loan to return to Melbourne City FC. And now, a fifth move away from Parkhead does not seem far away.

There are quite a few players who did feature much last season and could do with a move away from Celtic. The name of Benjamin Siegrist has to be near the top of that list.

Siegrist had arrived at Celtic amid a lot of expectations. He had impressed at Dundee United and many felt he could challenge Joe Hart for the first-team gloves.

In the two seasons since then, Siegrist has made only a couple of appearances for Celtic and none last season. In fact, he made it to the bench just once. No wonder he is on his way out and it looks like he will be playing his football under the management of Neil Lennon next season.

Siegrist is believed to be on the verge of a move to Rapid Bucharest and Lennon's recent comments have confirmed that. As reported by the Daily Record, the manager said about the Swiss goalkeeper:

"Benjamin Siergrist is a very good player, I hope he arrives in the next few days. Our keeper Marian Aioani is good, but needs competition.

"I hope that in the next week, there will be two or three more transfers. If we can bring in more players here, it would be very good."

The good news for Celtic is that they have already signed two goalkeepers this summer in the form of Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo. So, Siegrist's upcoming exit should not have any real effect on Brendan Rodgers' plans.

As for Siegrist, this seems like the right move for him. He is a talented goalkeeper, as he showed at Dundee United, but his career was headed nowhere at Celtic. Hopefully, he can get back to playing in Romania.
