Celtic-linked striker set to join Middlesbrough soon
Celtic have managed to sign their first-choice striker target this summer, bringing in Adam Idah from Norwich City on a permanent deal for what would be a club-record transfer fee if the add-ons are met. Thus, there is pressure on the Irishman to deliver after a fantastic half-season loan spell saw him score nine goals for the Hoops including the winner in the Scottish Cup final against the Rangers at Hampden Park.
Celtic are expected to bring in another striker this summer though, after they saw both Rocco Vata and Oh Hyeon-gyu leave in this window. The role of cover for Idah and Kyogo is vacant right now.
One of the strikers Celtic have been linked with in recent times is Tommy Conway. Unfortunately, while he is indeed leaving Bristol City this summer, Glasgow is not his destination.
As reported by Bristol Live, Conway is set to become a Middlesbrough player before the weekend. The transfer fee that will see him make the switch from Ashton Gate to the Riverside is still being finalised. But there is an expectation and confidence from both parties that a compromise will be reached at some point.

Conway had shown a lot of promise at Bristol City last season, even scoring against top level opposition. That saw him being linked with a move to Celtic.
That move will not end up happening, as he looks set to remain in England. Let's see how his spell at Middlesbrough goes.
As for Celtic, after spending that kind of a transfer fee to sign Idah and amid links with Arne Engels of FC Augsburg, it is hard to imagine that the club will shell out big money for a third-choice striker. So, let's see who they end up adding up top.
