With merely days left in the summer transfer window, Celtic still have a lot of work to do. Fans are hoping for the club to significantly strengthen their ranks before the close of deadline day. There are a number of areas where they could do with reinforcements. And it looks like a Croatian international winger is on their radar.

Celtic have some decent depth on the wings right now. Daizen Maeda, James Forrest, Nicolas Kuhn, Yang Hyun-jun and Luis Palma, that is a solid list of options on the flanks.

Yet, we have seen Celtic being linked with wingers all summer. And now, it is time to add another name to that list. One with the most pedigree out of all the options the Hoops are believed to have their eye on.

As reported by Corriere Fiorentino (via GIVEMESPORT), Celtic 'like' Josip Brekalo and carry an interest in the winger as they look for more recruitments to arrive before Friday's deadline. Other Serie A clubs are also keen on his signature.

Celtic had a Croatian international named Josip in their ranks not long ago. It would be safe to say that he was quite the player and had a short yet successful stint at the club.

Brekalo's time at Fiorentina has not been the most successful. But there is no question about his talent. The 26-year-old spent several years playing for Wolfsburg. He has more than 100 appearances and 30 goal contributions at the Bundesliga level. He has spent time at Torino and VfB Stuttgart. Even last season, he was solid on loan at Hajduk Split.

All things considered, someone like Brekalo has the potential to be an excellent signing. At 26 years of age, he is only entering his prime and is someone who could be one of the best players in all of Scotland.
