Celtic fans will love Ange Postecoglou's claim after losing to Arsenal
It has been more than a year since Ange Postecoglou swapped Celtic for Tottenham Hotspur. A lot has changed since then but one cannot deny the Australian's impact that is still felt at Parkhead. If you don't believe that, just look at the team. Kyogo, Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda, Alistair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers are still key parts of the starting XI.
Also, just have a look at those who have left. Jota and Matt O'Riley, two players signed under the management of Postecoglou, left Celtic for Scottish-record transfer fees in consecutive windows.
Of course, Postecoglou will not be particularly worried about Celtic at the moment. He has a massive task on his hands at Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur have not won anything since their 2008 League Cup triumph. It was also their only piece of silverware this century. Yet, Postecoglou seems to be confident about his chances of guiding this team to a trophy.
Celtic fans will love Ange Postecoglou's claim after losing to Arsenal
As reported by BBC, after Tottenham Hotspur's disappointing loss to Arsenal in the recent North London Derby, Postecoglou was asked about a pre-season interview where he said "usually in my second season I win things". He told Sky Sports:
"I'll correct myself - I don't usually win things, I always win things in my second year. Nothing's changed.
"I've said it now. I don't say things unless I believe them."
Postecoglou certainly did win a thing or two in his second season at Celtic. He guided the Hoops to a historic treble, days before leaving the club for Tottenham Hotspur.
Celtic are a club with a habit of winning things. The same cannot be said about Tottenham Hotspur. So, Postecoglou's task of guiding them to silverware might be much tougher. But if there is one manager who can back up his talk, it is the Australian.
Postecoglou has always had a bit of swagger about him, even when he was a relatively unknown Australian manager nobody believe could succeed at Celtic. Let's see if he can deliver trophies in London.
