Celtic fans were already worried about Matt O'Riley leaving the club this summer. Now, Manchester City are believed to be looking to sign Kyogo Furuhashi. Several reliable sources have confirmed this interest. Now, it remains to be seen whether the Japanese forward ends up joining the Premier League champions.

Ideally, one would not want to see Kyogo leave. But at the same time, there are some situations in which a club cannot do much.

The chance to play for Manchester City, arguably the best team on the planet, might be attractive to Kyogo. Especially at 29 years of age. An opportunity of this magnitude might not come again in his career.

The Hoops seem to be open to the move under the right conditions. As reported by the Daily Mail (via BBC), Celtic would be unlikely to block a deal for Kyogo if Manchester City offered more than £20 million for the Japanese forward.

Celtic signed Adam Idah for a £9.5 million transfer package from Norwich City this summer. The Irishman did well on loan at Parkhead last season, but is he ready to take Kyogo's place in the team? We are not quite so sure just yet.

Kyogo was nowhere near his best last season, as Brendan Rodgers struggled to get the best out of his star forward after he had scored 54 goals in two seasons under the management of Ange Postecoglou. Still, the Japanese striker did manage to score 19 goals in the 23/24 campaign. That is a figure Idah has never reached in his career.

So, Kyogo leaving would be a blow for Celtic and replacing him this late in the window would be close to impossible. Let's see how things play out over the next week and a half or so.
