Celtic have already gotten a couple of deals done this summer, bringing in Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo. On the other hand, Paulo Bernardo seems to be on the verge of returning to Parkhead on a permanent basis as well. Rumours suggest that a transfer fee has already been agreed with Benfica for the Portuguese midfielder.

There are a few other positions where one would expect Celtic to try and improve this summer. The wings might very well be one of them.

James Forrest managed to establish himself as a starter for Celtic towards the end of last season. While it was great to see the club legend get some consistent minutes and putting in solid performances after so many years, it also shows the lack of quality options in that position.

Michel-Ange Balikwisha has been linked with a move to Celtic in recent times. There seems to be a positive update regarding a potential transfer for the Belgian winger, along with some bad news as well.

As tweeted by Sacha Tavolieri, Brendan Rodgers got a talk with Balikwisha. Celtic's interest has once again been confirmed. But on the other hand, the player side got also in touch with Stade Rennais sports director Frederic Massara recently.

Someone like Balikwisha could be an excellent signing for Celtic. He is 23 years old, has represented Belgium at a number of youth international levels and has put up some solid numbers for Royal Antwerp the past few seasons.

There have been suggestions that it could take a fee around €9 million if Celtic want to sign Balikwisha from Royal Antwerp this summer. That would immediately make him one of the most expensive signings in the club's history. But considering the modern-day transfer market and how clubs from the top five leagues are changing their recruitment strategies, the Hoops have to be ready to make moves of this magnitude more frequently.
