Winning trophies has not been a problem for Celtic in recent times. Since 2011, they have won the league twelve times. And considering the situation they find themselves in, one would not expect their run to stop anytime in the near future. That does not mean that there are no areas for the club to improve in though. Far from it.

One aspect in which Celtic have struggled massively is promoting youngsters to the first-team and helping them establish themselves in the senior game. The last one to successfully make that jump was Kieran Tierney and it was a long time ago.

The only regular starter Celtic have, who came through their youth ranks is Callum McGregor. The likes of Anthony Ralston and Stephen Welsh get minutes here and there.

As a result, they have seen talented youngsters like Ben Doak, Rocco Vata and several others leave in recent years. So, it is clear that they need to create a pathway to the senior team.

Celtic officially announce new three-year contract

The good news for the Hoops is that one of their most talented youngsters has signed a deal with them. As tweeted by Celtic FC B, Filip Skorb has signed his first professional contract. He has put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

Skorb joined Celtic last summer. Clubs like Newcastle United and the Rangers were believed to be interested as well but he decided to join the Hoops.

It is important that Celtic provide a clear pathway into the first-team for players like Skorb, so that they can succeed at the senior level. If a few manage to do that, it will provide encouragement for youngsters around the world to make the move to Glasgow and for those already there to continue with the club rather than looking elsewhere.
