Celtic fans are hoping that the club improve their squad over the summer. The Hoops did win a Premiership and Scottish Cup double in the previous campaign but one cannot ignore how shaky they had looked in certain points of the 2023/24 season. Reinforcements are needed in multiple areas.

The start of the summer transfer window has been all about departures though. Three players have already left Celtic, either permanently or on loan, and more could follow.

Sead Haksabanovic has joined Malmo while Rocco Vata moved to Watford. Marco Tilio left on loan, returning to Melbourne City FC once again.

It looks like Oh Hyeon-gyu could potentially be on his way out soon as well. He has been constantly linked with a move away although nothing has materialised yet. Now even Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that there is interest. As reported by BBC, the Celtic manager said regarding the situation of the South Korean striker:

"There's some interest in Oh, so again we'll assess that as a club and just manage that."

Oh was signed by Celtic back in early 2023. He was brought in during the Ange Postecoglou era to take the place of Giorgos Giakoumakis in the squad.

It would be safe to say that Oh has not managed to fill the void of Giakoumakis. He has had decent spells of form here and there, but overall, he has not been able to perform at a high level consistently and as a result, never become a regular in the Celtic first-team.

Oh had played a decent bit of football and scored a few goals in the first half of the previous campaign. But following the arrival of Adam Idah on loan from Norwich City, he barely featured.

There is believed to be quite a bit of interest in Oh's signature though. And now, it remains to be seen whether he ends up leaving this summer or not.
