Ange Postecoglou made a triumphant return to Scotland as his Tottenham Hotspur side won 5-1 against Hearts at Tynecastle Park. Of course, the Australian has enjoyed his fair share of success on Scottish soil, from his time as Celtic manager. It was his first big chance to manage in Europe and he took it with both hands. He won five trophies in two seasons with the Hoops before his move to the Premier League.

Postecoglou has done a great job at Tottenham Hotspur as well. For the first few months, it had looked like they were set to make a Premier League title challenge before injuries ended up derailing their momentum.

Tottenham Hotspur ended up finishing the season in fifth. Somewhat disappointing after the fast start they had made to the campaign. But considering their injury problems and the departure of Harry Kane last summer, there was a to be optimistic about.

It has been more than a year since Postecoglou left Celtic but he clearly still has a lot of happy memories from his time at Parkhead. The topic of the Hoops was always going to be brought up on his return north. And as reported by Football Scotland, the Tottenham Hotspur manager said:

"Yeah, I loved my time here. Such an unbelievable club Celtic.

"The support I had from day one was unbelievable, but I enjoyed my whole time up here. I did, my family did, it was a great two years and I'll always look back with great fondness. Obviously we had great success which helps but aside from that, just the life we lived and the people we met, it will always be a special time in our lives."

Postecoglou's time as Celtic manager was certainly special for the fans as well. Of course, it is always a great feeling to see the club win silverware.

But even more special was perhaps how many obstacles Postecoglou's side overcame and how many critics they proved wrong along the way to the success. Not many had given them a chance when they lost three out of the first six league games in the 2021/22 season.

Unfortunately, Postecoglou's time as Celtic manager was not long. But he will always be fondly remembered by the supporters.
