With barely a week left in the 2025 summer transfer window, it looks like Celtic are finally trying to make things happen when it comes to signings. One can only wonder why they have left things so late, when they knew they had a Champions League qualifier play-off to play. But at least positive things are happening now.

One of the players Celtic have been linked with going back to the last summer transfer window is Michel-Ange Balikwisha. The saga has dragged on for months but it looks like it is finally over.

Balikwisha was left out of the Royal Antwerp matchday squad in their game this weekend. He also appeared to say goodbye to their fans afterwards, all but confirming that he was on his way out. And there is very little doubt about the destination.

As reported by CeltsAreHere, Balikwisha signed his Celtic contract on Sunday morning. The winger is set to fly into Scotland on Monday to finalise the move.

Celtic fans will be hoping that all this wait for Balikwisha proves to be worth it. The club have had him on their radar since the last summer transfer window.

A move did not materialise back then and he had a lot of fitness issues last season. But that was not enough to convince Celtic to turn their attention elsewhere. They seem to be completely convinced by what Balikwisha brings to the table.

That is a good sign. But then again, the Hoops' recruitment record has been shaky at best in recent years. Just look at how things have turned out for big-money signings from last summer like Adam Idah, Arne Engels and Auston Trusty. None of them can be considered nailed-on starters a year later.
