It would be safe to say that Celtic need to rebuild the squad starting this January, if they want to end this campaign on a high and with some silverware. Investment needs to be made, and some quality players need to be brought in, not just project signings. That being said, some answers might already be under the Hoops' noses.

During his second spell at Celtic, Brendan Rodgers seemed pretty particular about the players he was willing to give consistent chances to. When it came to some, it never felt like he was too interested in playing them consistently and helping them develop their games.

A lot of fans have been impressed with what we saw from Callum Osmand before his unfortunate injury. And he is not the only one who should have had a bigger role under Rodgers.

Many felt that Maik Nawrocki deserved more chances as well. He was impressive whenever given a chance, but those came only when other centre-backs were unavailable. When that was no longer the case, the Polish youth international found himself back out of the team, no matter how well he had done.

Frank McAvennie appears to believe that Celtic should bring Nawrocki back. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he said on Let Me Be Frank:

"I know it’s Celtic, but we’re talking about it, but he’s got a boy out on loan and I think he should bring him straight back.

“The guy called Nawrocki, he got eight games for Celtic and he never put a foot wrong, and for some reason Brendan didn’t like him.

“Because he had two right-footers and he wouldn’t let he wouldn’t put him in because he didn’t want to, all this kind of nonsense and he put the boy on loan, and he’s a Polish international the boy."

Nawrocki was sent out on loan in the summer, as it became clear that Rodgers did not view him as part of his first-team plans. He is currently at Bundesliga 2 side Hannover 96.

At the start of the season, he had struggled to get chances. But recently, Nawrocki has started back-to-back games and might be starting to find his feet in Germany.

It is believed that Hannover 96 have an option to buy included in the loan deal. So, the German club are in the driver's seat when it comes to Nawrocki's situation.
