It is quite impressive how Nicolas Kuhn has turned his Celtic career around. Signed last winter from Rapid Vienna, the German winger had a shaky start to life at Parkhead. He got a few chances but did not really nail down his spot in the team and was behind James Forrest in the pecking order by the end of the campaign. A lot of fans probably would have considered it another failed 'project signing' for the Hoops.

Kuhn has looked like a player transformed this season though. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 6 goals and provided 8 assists in 11 appearances in the 24/25 campaign so far.

Remarkable numbers for a winger. On current form, one could argue that he is even more important to this side going forward than Kyogo and Daizen Maeda.

Now, Kuhn just needs to prove that he can deliver against the big teams. Unfortunately, he was not able to show that away in Germany against Borussia Dortmund as Celtic lost 7-1.

Kuhn wanted to do well back in Germany. He played for Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig in the past. And as reported by the Daily Record, he said:

"That was not our real face. We lost to the finalists of the Champions League and if you are not 100 percent on it they will take their chances. We talked a lot about it and it is done and we just focus on the games coming up.

“Yes, for me personally, it was really difficult as I wanted to have a good game there. It was not to be and that's how it is now. I spoke to the manager about it and he told me to keep going and that's what we did on Sunday."

Kuhn certainly took Brendan Rodgers' advice and kept going at the weekend. He scored an 88th-minute winner against Ross County to make sure that Celtic would go into the international break on a positive note.

Of course, there was some controversy surrounding his celebrations with the fans. Many rival fans called for Kuhn to be shown a second yellow card but that does not really matter. What matters is that when it looked like Celtic were going to drop points in a tough away game, they stepped up and got the job done, showing the characteristics of a champion team.
