Como are clearly looking to make an impact in this summer transfer window and potentially challenge for the Serie A title in the upcoming campaign. They have recently been linked with a move for Nicolas Kuhn, who is also on the radar of RB Leipzig and Newcastle United. And now, it looks like the Italian club have one of Celtic's treble heroes in their sights as well.

It is someone who spent only a couple of seasons at Celtic, playing under the management of Ange Postecoglou. He won five trophies before leaving for Celta Vigo in the summer of 2023.

As reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Como want to take two central defenders. And there is a new surprise lead, negotiations are already well underway for Carl Starfelt.

Starfelt has a couple of years left on his contract with Celta Vigo. Como are working intensely to close the deal.

Celtic have never really managed to replace Starfelt since his departure in 2023. They are still trying to find a partner for Cameron Carter-Vickers in the heart of defence, a role that the Swede had filled so brilliantly over his two seasons at Parkhead. The likes of Gustaf Lagerbielke, Maik Nawrocki, Yuki Kobayashi and more have failed to fill his void.

He has spent the past couple of seasons playing La Liga-level football for Celta Vigo. So, one would imagine that he has improved as a player since then and should be able to make an impact for Como, if he does end up joining them.

On the other hand, it looks like Celtic will continue to search for Starfelt's long-term successor. At the moment, it is believed that they are on the verge of signing Hayato Inamura on a permanent basis.
