The Celtic midfield could look very different by next season. On one hand, Reo Hatate is one of the players who has been linked with a Parkhead exit, having spent three-and-a-half seasons in Glasgow, having arrived during Ange Postecoglou's debut campaign with the Hoops. On the other hand, there have been suggestions that the club are looking to bring in a defensive midfielder and have been linked with Wataru Endo, Kalidou Sidibe and more such players.
Amid all the speculation, it is easy to forget about players who are still on the club's books. One of them is currently out on loan but is aiming for a future at Celtic.
The player we are talking about is none other than Odin Thiago Holm. Hailed as the 'next Martin Odegaard' in his homeland, he has never managed to showcase that talent at Celtic. Of course, one could argue that he has never been given enough opportunities to do so.
Holm is currently out on loan at LAFC and he has not given up on his Parkhead career yet. As reported by The Celtic Way, the midfielder said:
"I still want to go back to Celtic and play, that's the goal."
Midfielder confirms he wants to make Celtic return
Holm has faced fitness issues after leaving Celtic on loan as well. But recently, he has gotten some playing time for LAFC. One can only hope that he continues to get opportunities for the MLS club and develops as a player.
It is good to see that Holm's aim is to play for Celtic. There are a lot of players who go out on loan in hopes of earning a permanent move to that club.
That is not the case for Holm. Fans will like that about him and let's see how things go for him in LA. He is out on loan for the remainder of 2025.
