Celtic have been very busy in recent days when it comes to finding new homes for some of their players who do not have a place in Brendan Rodgers' plans. There have been high-profile exits, like that of Nicolas Kuhn. On the other hand, plenty of fringe names have headed for the exit door as well in moves that are not going to have much of an impact.
Celtic are believed to be looking to strengthen their midfield at the moment. But at the same time, they also have some midfielders who do not have a place in Rodgers' plans and could do with a move away from Parkhead.
A move away would make sense for both parties involved and it looks like one might take place very soon. Kwon Hyeok-kyu looks set to be the next player to head for the Parkhead exit door.
As reported by Ouest France (via Get French Football News), Nantes are on the verge of signing Kwon. The South Korean midfielder is expected to undergo a medical today before signing a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 side.
'Medical today' - Another Celtic transfer set to be completed
Kwon was signed during the Rodgers era but never seemed to be in the manager's plans. He has never even made a single appearance for the Hoops.
He did spend a couple of stints out on loan and now is on the verge of leaving for France. In many ways, it feels like the right step for all parties involved.
Let's see what the future holds for Celtic in that midfield position. They need to make an addition there as soon as possible and they have been linked with quite a few players as well. Let's see if any of those rumoured moves lead to anywhere of substance.
