In recent days, it has been all about exits at Celtic. We have seen plenty of players head for the exit door but not enough arrivals. Hopefully, that will change very soon. There are a number of positions where the Hoops need to strengthen and on more than one occasion over the last couple of years, they have looked towards familiar faces to fill those needs.

One area in need of strengthening in the remainder of this summer transfer window is left-back. Kieran Tierney is expected to start there, having been brought back as a free agent after six years with Arsenal.

On the other hand, we have seen Greg Taylor leave at the end of his own contract at Celtic. He has moved to PAOK, leaving the Hoops in need of cover for Tierney. Jeffrey Schlupp, who spent the second half of last season on loan with the club, has been linked with a return. Interestingly, he is available as a free agent as well after his deal at Crystal Palace expired this summer.

But it looks like Celtic won't be his next destination. As reported by Sky Sports, Norwich City are close to agreeing a deal for Schlupp. Talks are progressing well with The Canaries.

A stay in England has always seemed more likely for Schlupp than moving to Celtic. One has to remember that he must have been on a pretty good salary at Crystal Palace and will be expecting a high offer as a free agent.

Are Celtic the type of club who will spend a lot to bring in a 32-year-old who is going to be a backup option to Tierney? We all know the answer to that question.

Let's see what the future holds for Schlupp. At the moment, it looks like he will end up at Norwich City if something unexpected does not happen.

On the other hand, left-back remains an area of need for Celtic. Earlier, rumours had emerged that they were closing in on a move for Flavio Nazinho but that has gone quite over the past few days.
