This is not a happy time to be a Celtic fan. Merely a day after Greg Taylor's move to PAOK was confirmed, it has emerged that a deal has been agreed for Nicolas Kuhn to join Como FC in Serie A. Just like that, two of Brendan Rodgers' starters are gone. One can only hope that the Hoops are able to find proper replacements.
Kuhn's impending departure means that one would expect Celtic to sign a winger to replace him. Or are they already content, having brought in Benjamin Nygren from FC Nordsjaelland in a bargain £1.2 million move earlier this summer.
Celtic never really replaced Kyogo when he left in the winter. Will they bring in a replacement this summer up top? We can only wait and watch.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is someone Celtic have been linked with in recent times, as the England international will be leaving Everton this summer and is available as a free agent. Most would view the links as merely a creation of the rumour mill. But a report from TransferFeed goes on to read:
"Celtic target Dominic Calvert-Lewin after his contract with Everton expired, despite Jermaine Jenas suggesting he consider offers like Sunderland's for better wages."
Massive Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Celtic transfer news
Calvert-Lewin is a proven striker in the Premier League. So, on top of his game, someone like him would be a great addition for Celtic.
The issue is, nobody is certain that we will ever see him at his best again. The Englishman has struggled for both for form and fitness in recent times. Once linked to some of the biggest teams in England, there is a reason he is now available as a free agent and without too much interest despite that.
Let's see how things play out for Calvert-Lewin. As for Celtic, it would have to be considered a risky move if they do end up signing the former Everton striker. But if the wages make sense, then it might be a risk worth taking for them.
