Martin O'Neill admitted he is none the wiser about Celtic's issues or his future after a second successive Old Firm defeat.
O'Neill's Bhoys delivered another flat display on Sunday to lose 1-0 at home to Rangers, a week on from their 3-0 defeat at Ibrox and three days on from their Europa League defeat to Ferencvaros.
The Hoops were better than they were at Ibrox, but they produced nowhere near enough to come away with a result on Sunday, failing to even threaten at the end of the game, when teams losing by one goal are usually hammering on the door for an equaliser.
Rangers were able to keep Celtic at arm's length, and fans are getting more frustrated by the day, booing their team as they left the pitch.
Asked about the situation after the game, Celtic boss O'Neill said: "I will reflect on the games. I’ll obviously speak to the board. And you never know, they may want to speak to me. But yeah, I’ll see. I’ve got some time to do that."
O'Neill will feel hard done by due to the poor recruitment over the summer, but he is expected to find answers to issues, and he doesn't look as though he knows what is going wrong, and definitely not how to fix the issues.
Asked what he will do if he revises the action and discovers that it is simply a personnel problem, O'Neill added: "By that time, I will promise you, I’ll let you know. I don’t know. I’ll have a look."
O'Neill sounds far from confident that he can turn things around, and he certainly doesn't sound confident in his players, which is a concerning sign.
Being calm in a storm is understandable, but fans need to see O'Neill take this situation by the horns and give some sort of indication that he can turn things around. But he, like al others at the club currently, look completely lost.
