Celtic have been linked with a transfer move for Christian Eriksen in recent weeks. The Danish international's current contract at Old Trafford runs out at the end of the 24/25 campaign. And Manchester United's stance heading into the January window is brilliant news for the Hoops.

Celtic are having an incredible season, even by their own high standards. They are yet to lose a game in the Premiership, having only dropped points on one occasion, in the draw against Aberdeen.

They are also performing well in Europe. Celtic are currently sat 21st in the Champions League table and are level on points with Real Madrid, the competition's most successful team, no less.

This aside, Celtic remain open to strengthening the side. To do so, the Hoops hope to be active in the upcoming transfer windows.

The biggest name which has been doing the rounds of the Celtic rumour mill in recent weeks is Christian Eriksen. The Danish midfielder is nearing the end of his time at Old Trafford and given his contract expires at the end of this season, he might either be available for a bargain fee in January or for nothing in the summer.

According to a report from talkSPORT, Manchester United are keen to keep Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho. But they are open to offers for virtually every other player to help stay on the right side of PSR rules.

Considering Eriksen is soon to be out of contract and seemingly not in Ruben Amorim's long-term plans, he could be one of the first to head for the exit door. Will Celtic make a move?

Of course, the links are not without their criticism. Celtic are the most-watched and most scrutinised team in Scotland, so everybody has something to say. Neil Lennon, for example, is not overly optimistic that a move would work out well for all parties.

Nevertheless, if Celtic remain keen to take a chance on an undeniable legend of the game in the twilight years of his career, then they will be happy to hear of Manchester United's latest transfer plan. Let's see how it all unfolds.

To conclude, we would be remiss if we didn't mention that club negotiations and player negotiations are two different things. While Man United could be easy to negotiate with, Eriksen might not be. After all, he earns a gigantic wage at Old Trafford right now. That's definitely something to consider.
