Manchester City are in a tough position right now. Nobody could have foreseen how this season would play out for Pep Guardiola's side. And while they have somewhat steadied the ship in recent weeks, there is clearly a need to shuffle things up. One of their potential winter moves could have a negative effect on Celtic and their plans though.

One player that the Hoops have been linked with for a few years now is Mathias Kvistgaarden. The Brondby forward found his name in the Celtic rumour mill even a few days back.

While it is not Kvistgaarden that Manchester City want to sign, one of their moves could end up having an impact on the Brondby forward's future. And that might derail any plans that Celtic have of signing him.

Omar Marmoush is someone Manchester City are believed to be closing in on a deal for this winter. Could Kvistgaarden be a potential replacement for him?

As reported by BILD, Eintracht Frankfurt are already looking for a Marmoush replacement. The German club are being offered players every day for the winter and this includes Kvistgaarden.

It remains to be seen how things play out in this saga. But it has been suggested that the German club might have their sights set elsewhere.

On the other hand, let's see if Celtic do end up making a move to sign Kvistgaarden this winter or not. Interest in his signature is believed to be growing as he has shown a lot of improvement and potential in recent times. So, it goes without saying that the Hoops need to be quick if they want to sign the youngster as they might not be able to compete with teams from the top five European leagues when it comes to finances.
