Celtic are very open to the idea of bringing back club heroes. We have learned that over the past couple of years. Brendan Rodgers in 2023, Jota last winter and Kieran Tierney this summer, there have been quite a few reunions at Parkhead in recent times. Naturally, that has also led to speculation about more to come in the future.
Odsonne Edouard is one of the players to be linked with a Celtic return recently. The Frenchman was phenomenal during his four seasons with the Hoops, scoring 20-plus goals in three straight campaigns.
Unfortunately, since leaving Celtic in the summer of 2021, things have gone south for Edouard. He has managed to score just 21 goals for Crystal Palace so far. His spent this season on loan at Leicester City but struggled to even make the matchday squad for a club that ended up getting relegated.
So, it is quite clear that the Frenchman needs a change in scenery amid rumours linking him with a return to Celtic. And as reported by News Shopper, the door could be open for Edouard to leave the club.

The interesting thing is that Celtic need a striker this summer. Kyogo left in the winter and was never really replaced. Instead, Daizen Maeda was moved to a central role.
Admittedly, Maeda did a brilliant job when playing as a centre-forward. But with Jota suffering a serious injury, he might need to move back to the flank for the foreseeable future.
So, in this situation, the Hoops will need to strengthen, whether that is at striker or on the wing. And if Edouard is available for a bargain fee, making a move might make sense. At 27 years of age, he should be in his prime.
