At the end of every transfer window, football fans want to feel excited about their club's new additions. But if you are a Celtic supporter, it is hard not to feel anything but deflated. The deadline day had come with a lot of expectations and did not deliver on any of them, as it feels like the Hoops have done a good job of allowing the Rangers to get into a title race rather than trying to pull away.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Celtic. Of course, with the international break, this feels like a rare silent period, where not much is happening.

That being said, things are never completely still in football. There has been some activity surrounding Ange Postecoglou lately, as it has been claimed that Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahce are possible destinations for the former Celtic manager.

But it looks like one of those options might already be off the table. That is if reports coming out of the German media are on the mark.

Major Ange Postecoglou news in Germany will interest Celtic fans

As reported by Kicker, Ange Postecoglou emerged as the latest candidate for the Bayer Leverkusen job. However, the 60-year-old isn't expected to be the favourite.

That is because Postecoglou is a clear advocate of the 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1, which wouldn't necessarily fit with the Bayer Leverkusen squad, which is built for a 3-4-2-1. The German club sacked Erik ten Hag just months into the new season.

So, it looks like Postecoglou is not one of the leading candidates for the Bayer Leverkusen job. If you ask us, his style could be better suited to the Bundesliga than it was in the Premier League. So, clubs in Germany should view him as a potential candidate.

One thing that could make Postecoglou a good fit for Bayer Leverkusen is his proven ability to go into a club that is in a tough period and rebuild. This summer, the German side have seen players like Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Jonathan Tah and Piero Hincapie leave, significantly weakening them.

That sounds pretty similar to when Postecoglou arrived at Celtic in 2021. The likes of long-time club captain Scott Brown, Ryan Christie, Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer left in that window. They were also coming off a 20/21 campaign in which they had finished 25 points behind the Rangers and trophyless.
