As we start to slowly head towards the end of the season, rumours are already starting to crop up regarding potential summer transfer moves. Celtic did not make too much happen in the winter. As a result, the expectation is for them to make quite a few moves in the upcoming window. One of their top targets seems to be drawing a lot of interest though.

Celtic are one of the clubs believed to be interested in signing Lennon Miller from Motherwell. The 18-year-old midfielder is not only a regular in the middle of the park for the Steelmen but has also captained the team a few times already, which goes on to show how highly he is regarded.

Many are viewing him as the best rising talent in Scottish football at the moment. Naturally, Celtic are not the only team to be linked with the midfielder.

It is believed that the Rangers want him too, and Miller could be a statement signing following their takeover. But there are other teams in the running for the midfielder as well, who have a lot more financial strength than both Scottish giants.

Lyon ready £8 million bid for top Celtic transfer target

As reported by Football Insider, Miller is wanted by French giants Lyon. The Ligue 1 club are ready to make an offer up to £8 million for the Scottish midfielder.

Of course, that would be a significantly higher fee than the one Celtic shelled out to sign Scott Brown from Hibernian. That remains the record for the biggest transfer between two Scottish clubs.

Miller is a fantastic talent for sure, but it is hard to imagine that Celtic would be making a transfer offer of that magnitude for a player who is not even guaranteed to start regularly for them. Let's see how it plays out.
