Luis Palma is keen on a return to Celtic. The winger wants to finally impress in Glasgow after a good loan spell at Lech Poznan, and now, his manager in Poland, Niels Frederiksen, has given his side of things.

Speaking earlier this week, Palma admitted that he had a great time at Celtic and enjoyed his time here. He wants a second chance at Parkhead, and will "do [his] very best" when he returns from his loan deal.

Of course, he is still under contract at his loan club though and is happy. Poznan would surely like to bring him to the club permanently, but a move like that would shatter their record transfer fee, costing them at least €4.5 million.

Frederiksen has admitted that he didn't see Palma's words as a big deal, saying: "For me, his recent words weren’t a big deal. He remains a Celtic player, so he has to be loyal to them in some way.

"What matters to me is that he gives everything he has to help us. There will be time to decide on his future, and, in my opinion, he’s also quite happy in Poznan.

"However, none of us knows what will happen in the summer. We do know that he’ll stay with us for the next eight matches and we can count on him."

What does the future hold for Palma?

Although no one knows for sure what will happen in the summer, some supporters will be hoping that Palma will end up returning to the club. Of course, Poznan will be eager to keep him, but a deal seems unlikely.

Celtic's wingers haven't been great this season. None of them have hit the ground running and instead, have suffered a major fall-off from the last campaign. Palma is also a winger and could offer something unique. With him performing well for Poznan, he could finally be ready for the pressure of the Hoops.

If he can keep it up from now until the end of the season, he could get his chance. If he continues to play regularly, then there is no reason why he shouldn't be given a shot, especially in pre-season under a new manager.

Whoever the next head coach is will have a difficult task on their hands, but hopefully existing players will be able to step up to the call. We already know that squad members like Kieran Tierney and Callum McGregor will likely continue to start regularly for the Hoops, and now, Palma will be hoping that he can play a part in that.
