Celtic fans are still eagerly waiting for the club to make their first addition of the month. But at the moment, it looks like most of the speculation surrounding the club is about potential exits. The Hoops have been linked with quite a few forwards in recent weeks, whether that be Mohamed Bayo of Lille, Louie Barry of Aston Villa or Mathias Kvistgaarden of Brondby.

So, that clearly looks like a position that they are aiming to strengthen in. On the other hand, it looks like doubts continue to cloud the future of Kyogo Furuhashi.

Kyogo was being heavily linked with a move to Atlanta United not too long ago. While that no longer seems to be on the cards, now, it looks like the Ligue 1 could potentially be a destination for the Japanese international.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Rennes could make a £10 million January move for Kyogo. Their head coach Jorge Sampaoli is keen to land him this month in a bid to improve their poor Ligue 1 form.

Since the departure of Ange Postecoglou in the summer of 2023, we have not seen the same free-scoring Kyogo that we witnessed in his first two seasons at Celtic. He scored 34 goals in the 22/23 campaign and was being hailed as the club's best player since Henrik Larsson at one point.

But since Brendan Rodgers has arrived as manager, Kyogo's numbers have dipped quite a bit. Despite that, he remains Celtic's best option up top and it would be a mistake if the club part ways with him in the middle of the season.

That being said, Celtic might not stand in the way of any player that wants to leave. So, let's see how this Kyogo saga plays out between now and the end of the winter transfer window.
