Celtic look set to say goodbye to quite a few players this winter. Stephen Welsh has already left in order to join KV Mechelen on loan and there are plenty of others who could be on their way out before the end of this month. Someone like Luis Palma is expected to be on that list. But one player who was not is Alex Valle.

Joining Celtic on loan from FC Barcelona in the summer, Valle has impressed many with his displays. Some even believe that he should be starting ahead of Greg Taylor, whose own future at Parkhed is in doubt with his contract set to run out in the summer.

Unexpectedly, it looks like Valle could leave the club this winter itself. But that move would depend on the situation of a certain Kieran Tierney.

As reported by MARCA, Valle is very close to going on loan to Como, which is coached by Cesc Fabregas in the Serie A. The operation depends on Tierney returning to Celtic. Everything indicates that this return will take place in this winter window and if so, the Spaniard would leave the Scottish club. Barcelona have already been informed of this possible move and have given the green light to it. They are in favour of him heading to the Italian side.

Last year, there had been rumours of Valle's loan deal being terminated in the middle of it. Most had viewed it as mere speculation.

Now, it looks like there had been more to it. Let's see how this situation transpires. Clearly, a lot depends on Tierney and what the future holds for him.

Tierney is set to become a free agent next summer with his Arsenal contract set to run out. But the Scottish left-back could end up returning to Celtic on loan this winter itself.
