With the season almost over, a lot of Celtic fans are already busy speculating about which players the club could end up signing in the summer transfer window. Over the last few months, we have seen the Hoops being linked with a long list of names. Which of these rumours have substance, we will find out in the near future.

One player Celtic have been linked with for quite some time now is Lennon Miller. The Motherwell wonderkid has taken his game up a level this season.

Miller is already starting to deliver on his potential. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 4 goals and provided 8 assists this season for Motherwell across all competitions.

We have also seen him play all across the Motherwell midfield during this time and he has even captained the side on numerous occasions despite being just 18 years of age. Thus, it is not hard to understand why there is so much hype surrounding Miller and after Brendan Rodges' recent comments, rumours linking him with a move to Celtic are only going to grow.

The Hoops have been linked with Miller going back to last summer. And Rodgers recently stressed on the importance of having a Scottish core. As reported by The Celtic Way, the manager said:

"If you are in Spain having a Spanish core is important, it you are in Italy it would be an Italian core. For me, it absolutely key.

“The boys who have come through at Celtic here understand what this club is about. They have been here as young guys, they have come through, they are brought up in the values of Celtic.

“Guys like Tony [Ralston] are really pivotal to the culture of this club. He doesn’t play every single game, but he is probably one of our most important players here because of his history at the club.

“But the other Scottish boys, not just the guys who have come through here, are important. Scott Bain doesn’t play hardly ever, but he has been a real leader behind the scenes as well. Having the Scottish core here is 100 per cent key to your success."

It would be safe to say that there is no talent better than Miller in Scottish football right now. That is why he has been named the PFA Scotland and SFWA Young Player of the Year. He is also Motherwell's Player of the Year. Quite an achievement for an 18-year-old.

Of course, it won't be easy for Celtic to sign Miller. Surely, Motherwell will be looking for a record fee and on top of that, he has been linked with plenty of clubs around Europe, including Liverpool.
