Kieran Tierney posts Celtic story on social media amid return rumours
It is that time of the season again when Kieran Tierney is inevitably linked with a return to Celtic. It has been more than half a decade since the Scottish left-back departed Parkhead to join Arsenal in a £25 million move. But with his future at the London club now in serious doubt, could a comeback to Glasgow be on the cards?
Tierney's time at Arsenal had started so well. In his first few years with the club, he was one of their best players and many even viewed him as a future captain.
Over time, he has lost his place in Mikel Arteta's team though. It is due to a combination of constant injury problems as well new players being signed by Arsenal in his position, who have proven themselves to be more reliable if not better.
Tierney spent last season out on loan at Real Sociedad. He was expected to leave this summer but ended up suffering an injury at EURO 2024, which meant that an exit was off the cards.

Amid rumours of a return to Parkhead, Tierney was present at Celtic's fundraising Gala Dinner in London. He was pictured with Brendan Rodgers as well. The Arsenal would later share the post on his Instagram story accompanied by the caption 'Great night for an amazing cause'.
Signing Tierney on a loan deal would certainly be a possibility and would perhaps be the most sensible move considering his injury track record. On the other hand, there have been rumours that Arsenal would be willing to part ways with him for a transfer fee in the region of £10 million.
It remains to be seen if a Tierney return does materialise this time around. Las Palmas of La Liga are rumoured to be interested in signing him on a loan basis as well.
