Kieran Tierney will be a Celtic player again. That has been confirmed now by Brendan Rodgers. The timing of the move remains uncertain though. His current deal at Arsenal is set to run in the summer, which means that he will become a free agent. But there is also the possibility that he could end up back at Parkhead this winter itself considering his lack of opportunities at the London club.

Alex Valle's loan spell at Celtic is set to be cut short as he heads for Como. Is that a sign that the club are ready to sign Tierney this winter itself?

Otherwise, it would be a bold move to stick with Greg Taylor as the only real option at left-back. Especially since he has faced a decent bit of criticism for his performances this season.

One thing is clear though. Tierney is headed back to Celtic. Finally, the news was confirmed by none other than Rodgers. As reported by The Guardian, the Northern Irish manager said:

"We are agreed that it will definitely take place in the summer. If we can do it before that, then great."

This is the news that many Celtic fans have been waiting for. Tierney's injury record means that signing him is a risk but it is not everyday that a player of his quality arrives at Parkhead as a free agent. Also, one cannot overlook the emotional aspect of the move. The Scottish left-back could have chosen other clubs but has decided that it is the right time to come back home.

One can only hope that Tierney is able to put his injury problems behind him and have a strong career moving forward. He is a quality player and a joy to watch, not only for Celtic fans but neutrals as well.

Also, Tierney is not the only fan favourite set to don the Celtic jersey again. Jota was recently brought back from Rennes and let's see if the superstar from Portugal is able to recreate the magic we witnessed in his first spell.
