The dust has barely settled on Jota's return to Celtic. It is a move that not many would have seen coming in this winter transfer window but is a welcome one nonetheless. The Portuguese winger had left the club merely 18 months ago but after failed stints at Al-Ittihad and Rennes, he finds himself back at Parkhead.

Celtic were always expected to sign a winger this winter. And fans were happy that they had settled on Jota being the one to fill that role.

Now though, it looks like Celtic are looking to sign not one but two wingers this winter. Is it another sign that they are preparing to move Daizen Maeda to a centre-forward role following the departure of Kyogo?

They seemingly still want to sign someone they have been linked with recently. As reported by Anthony Joseph, Celtic have made an opening bid for Sarpsborg winger Sondre Ørjasæter.

Ørjasæter currently plays for Sarpsborg and has scored 6 goals and provided 7 assists in 32 appearances for the club. Other than that, the 21-year-old winger has represented Norway at youth international levels.

The magnitude of the transfer bid that Celtic have made in hopes of signing Ørjasæter from Sarpsborg is unclear. But in the recent past, it has been suggested that the club would want a figure in the region of £7 million in order to part ways with the 21-year-old.

That would be a steep figure for Celtic to shell out for a player who is not exactly proven at the highest level of the game. It remains to be seen whether they do end up pushing to sign him.

Celtic's interest in signing another winger is the most interesting thing about this situation. One has to wonder what the thought process is behind that while there are other positions in need of strengthening.
