Despite reports in the Danish media that Celtic were close to signing Kasper Dolberg, a move has not materialised so far. There have been suggestions in the Scottish media that the Hoops are yet to meet the asking price or reach personal terms with the striker. But there is another aspect of this deal that many seem to be overlooking.

Celtic are believed to have called back Adam Idah after his Swansea City medical, as they do not want to see him leave before a replacement has been brought in. One would imagine that Anderlecht would want another striker in place as well before parting ways with Dolberg.

That might very well be one of the reasons for the holdup. And there is a positive update regarding that, which does point to Dolberg heading to Parkhead soon.

Latest rumours emerging are that Anderlecht have made a bid for Vitinha. He is Genoa's Portuguese striker. Surely that is a profile they are looking at as a replacement for Dolberg.

This is turning out to be quite the transfer domino. Idah's move to Swansea City depends on Dolberg arriving, which the Danish striker might be waiting for Vitinha to join Anderlecht.

One thing is very clear though, Celtic do not have a lot of time to make things happen. There are just a few more days left in the summer transfer window. And earlier, there had been suggestions that wanted Dolberg to arrive in time for him to be registered for the Glasgow Derby this weekend, although that is starting to feel very unlikely.

Let's hope for the best. Dolberg is a proven striker, who has delivered at Ajax and Nice in the past, made 55 appearances for Denmark and scored 24 goals in 45 games for Anderlecht last season. Also, at 27, he is only entering his prime.
