The Celtic transfer rumour mill has been working overtime over the last few days. After the Hoops were eliminated from the Champions League qualifier play-offs, it became very clear that this side is not good enough to compete with top teams. In fact, they seem significantly weaker than the side that started off the 24/25 campaign.

It is not hard to understand why that is the case. Key players have left and not been replaced. Whether it was Kyogo in January or Nicolas Kuhn this summer.

Thankfully, Celtic have finally gotten a deal done for Michel-Ange Balikwisha in the aftermath of that defeat at the hands of Kairat. But they are yet to sign a striker this summer. On the contrary, Adam Idah is on the verge of leaving for Swansea City.

Everything seems to be in place but Idah will only complete the move if Celtic can bring in a replacement in time. Kasper Dolberg is someone they have their eye on and talks have been underway with Anderlecht. The Belgian club are believed to be open to the Danish international's exit after failing to make Europe.

There have been conflicting reports about the situation involving Celtic and Dolberg. The Danish media have a positive update on the situation though.

As reported by Bold.dk, Dolberg is close to joining Celtic, who are reportedly paying around £8 million for the Danish striker. Only the final details need to fall into place before he will sign a four-year deal with the Hoops.

Well, Celtic fans will be hoping that the report is accurate. But the suggestions in the Scottish media are that no agreement has been reached yet. Of course, that could quickly change and it has to, with little time left in the window.
